BELGRADE PREMIERE OF THE NOVEL PREY BY GEORGI GROZDEV
On May 10 the Serbian edition of the novel Prey by Georgi Grozdev was presented in the Union of Publishers and Booksellers in Belgrade. Translator of the novel is the young Ana Dzhurich. The most popular Serbian author in Bulgaria (after Ivo Andrich) the academic Dragoslav Mihailovich opened the premiere wishing Bulgarian-Serbian literary and cultural contacts would become ever more active and mutually beneficial. The author of When the Pumpkins Blossomed, Petria’s Wreath and Villains noted, “The language of Prey is fresh, the translation is good, the novel has been cleverly written”. Prof. Bozhidar Kunchev presented Prey to the attending writers, publishers, journalists, culture figures, and literary critics. The renowned Serbian writer and deputy minister of culture Ivan Ivanovich welcomed the presentation of the novel and reminded of the close contacts among Bulgarian and Serbian artists from as far back as the time of Rade Drainats and Elisaveta Bagriana.
The next day the most circulated newspapers Politika and Vecherni Novosti became interested in the cultural event.
